Stephanie and Josh - A Summer Garden

Garden chairs for Stephanie and Josh's 38 guests were set  in Hollin Hall's Lower Walled Garden.

The bride and groom entered the garden together.  Note the groom's green tennis shoes.

Colorful ribbons decorated the chairs and flowers lined the aisle.

Josh's dad officiated.  Friends gave readings and songs.

A medley of colorful table covering and flowers were set up in the Breakfast Porch and Dining Room.

Michelle and Evan Design a Special Day

Michelle and Evan were married in the walled garden on June 25, 2011.

Barrett's of Alexandria provided a buffet featuring Indian, Mediterranean and Western food.

A photo booth was set up in the Hollin Hall Fireplace Room.

The Chapel was decorated with family photos.

Other activities included lawn games and a pinata in the Wisteria Arbor.

Jeannie and Derrick - Friends who listen with the heart

Jeannie and Derrick were married in the walled garden at Hollin Hall on June 26, 2011.  Their luncheon reception was at Laporta's Restaurant in Old Town Alexandria.  Here Jeannie is escorted by her son, Cameron.

 

Reverend Felix Bigham officiated at the ceremony.

JJ and Anjon - Welcome in Love

JJ and Anjon were married in the Walled Garden of Hollin Hall in a ceremony that blended traditional Vedic and Unitarian Universalist Elements.  Photos by Nina Tisara/Hollin Hall & The Meeting House.

The ceremony took place under a leafy and airy Mandap.

The bride and groom exchange garlands symbolizing their respect for one another and their consent to marry.

The Meeting House Chapel was decorated in a peacock theme.

A Hindu Vedic Ceremony

 

Amanda and Rahul celebrated their Hindu Vedic wedding ceremony in the walled garden at Hollin Hall on June 18, 2011.  Here the groom's family members, relatives and friends accompany him to the wedding venue in a procession called the Baraat.

The bride's maternal uncle lead her to the Mandap, the designated place in the marriage venue where all rituals are performed.  The bride's parents invoke Mandap deities and offer pooja and pray for Mandap sanctification.

 Amanda carries a garland of flowers for Rahul.

The Mandap is set in the walled garden with chairs surrounding on three sides.

A buffet of traditional Indian foods was served in the Meeting House.

Melissa and TJ - A Beautiful Wedding

Melissa and TJ were married in a beautiful ceremony

in the Walled Garden at Hollin Hall on June 4, 2011.
