Love Profound

Lauren Jill and William were married in Hollin Hall's Main Walled Garden on a beautiful late fall day. Words from Lauren Jill's great-grandmother, Helen Sutton Booth, graced the cover of their program,

The vows you pledged on your wedding day

One Hand, One Heart

Kerry and Joe were married in Hollin Hall's main walled garden on Saturday, October 13, a perfect Fall afternoon.  Rev. Julian Bermudez officiated.

The cocktail hour flowed from Historic Hollin Hall to the Wisteria Arbor.

Later, the bride wrote "My wedding was really pretty much perfect and magical. Hollin Hall was the perfect venue. The weather was fantastic and the only "complaint" my mom and I have is that we wish we could have stayed out on the wisteria porch longer, only because it was so gorgeous out there!"





A Traditional Hindu Wedding Ceremony

Pranhidi and David were married in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Hollin Hall's main walled garden on October 6.  Here they pose for photos before the start of the ceremony.

The bride and groom are wearing garlands to mark the union of body, mind and spirit.  To commence the ceremony, a prayer is offered to Lord Ganesh to invoke his blessings and to remove all obstacles for a successful completion of the ceremony.

 

The white garden chairs were moved indoors to the Meeting House for the reception as were the four pillar "trees" that created the mandap under which the ceremony took place.  Catering was by Bollywood Bistro.  The mandap and flower arrangements were by Davinci Florist.

...the sun is shining more brightly...

Amber and Bruce were married in the Circle Garden in front of Hollin Hall on a sun-filled September afternoon.  Susan Kennard Walker officiated.  They chose for one of their readings words by Vincent Van Gogh,

 

It may well seem to you that the sun is shining more brightly and that everything has taken on a new charm.  That, at any rate, is the inevitable consequence of true love, I believe, and it is a wonderful thing....

Let's Grow Old Together

Let's grow old together is the sentiment of the poem on Kathy and Jim's wedding program. The couple was wed at Calvary United Methodist Church on September 22. They celebrated with a reception on the slate terrace and in the Meeting House on the grounds of Mount Vernon Unitarian Church. Although rain was forecast the weather was perfect.

Shepherd's hooks, ribboned lanterns and rose petals marked the path to the slate terrace.

Flowers and decorations are by Free Spirit Floral.

Main Event Catering provided a served dinner for 180 guests.

A Fun-Filled Fiftieth

Esther and Rob Dickinson's children planned a beautiful and fun-filled 50th wedding celebration at Mount Vernon Unitarian Church on Sunday, September 16. Beverages were enjoyed in mid-afternoon on the slate patio. A buffet dinner spread was arranged in the Commons by Matters of Taste Catering.  After the cake cutting, MVUC music director Mark Zimmerman led the guests in a program of songs and impromptu dancing
