A Traditional Hindu Wedding Ceremony

Pranhidi and David were married in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Hollin Hall's main walled garden on October 6.  Here they pose for photos before the start of the ceremony.

Pranhidi and her parents ready to enter the garden.

The bride and groom are wearing garlands to mark the union of body, mind and spirit.  To commence the ceremony, a prayer is offered to Lord Ganesh to invoke his blessings and to remove all obstacles for a successful completion of the ceremony.

The white garden chairs were moved indoors to the Meeting House for the reception as were the four pillar "trees" that created the mandap under which the ceremony took place.  Catering was by Bollywood Bistro.  The mandap and flower arrangements were by Davinci Florist.

  1. What a lovely ceremony. My cousin and her husband had this theme for their wedding because they met in India. They also had her brother perform the ceremony. He had a great time finding where to get ordained online. I believe that it made their ceremony that much more special. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
